Instagram is an iPhone App that has has over 27 million followers! The basic idea of Instagram is a social media program that simply allows you to share your iPhone images with others.
This is how it works: You take an image with your iPhone, open the Instagram App and import the image you took. Instagram will ask you to crop the image to fit the square orientation of Instagram. You simply pinch and spread your fingers to increase and decrease the size of the image. Once you have the image resized and framed how you like it you touch “choose”.
Then you can apply a photo filter of your choice. In the example below, I chose the filter “Hudson”. It cooled off the image a bit and added some punch. Once you have the image looking good you touch the green check.
Instagram opens a screen that gives you posting options. You can add a caption to your image to describe what the viewer is seeing. You can also turn on and off your GPS location so the viewer knows where the image was shot. Additionally, you can have Instagram post the image to your Facebook or Twitter feed too.
Instagramming is lightning fast and you can have a post done in a few simple clicks. Here are some examples of images I am seeing in my recent news feed.
My brother in law is skiing in Colorado.
A picture was Instagrammed of my model for a lighting class I was teaching.
My friend is getting the stare down as she is trying to study.
Thanks for reading and happy Instagramming!
